Only some time ago Sönke Rothenberger was above all present at jumping events. After a successful time with the ponies in the dressage the rider from the well-known dressage family had turned his back on jumping and henceforth started for several years in show-jumping competitions. But since 2014 you can also encounter the 19 years old rider at dressage events again – and his performances are convincing. Together with Cosmo and the team he become European Champion and won bronze in the individual. And the success story continues: Together with Favourit, the former horse of the Swedish top rider Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfven, which changed over to Germany in 2013 and then prepared the way to the Grand Prix for Sönke’s sister Sanneke, he rode his first Grand Prix in Emmeloord in the Netherlands last week and won right away. This weekend there was the second Grand Prix on the occassion of a national show in Kranichstein on the agenda. And once again he was able to win. Achieving 73.560 percent Rothenberger left behind Thomas Wagner with Amoricello and Hubertus Schmidt, who occupied the third to fifth place (together with Sammy Deluxe, Florenciano and Imperio). Respect!
