British show jumper William Whitaker will move to Belgium in order to further his career, so Horse&Hound announced. The 26-year-old often had thought about moving abroad to reduce the travelling. “It was a hard decision, I like being based in England – apart from the amount of travelling you have to do to get to shows – it is a great place to produce good young horses.”
Whitaker will take some of his top horses to Tal Milstein’s yard near Brussels and will also ride some of Milstein’s horses.
Whitaker’s fiancee Elisabeth Fredl and their two children Isabelle and Oliver will join him, but they will go back when Isabelle is starting school. The yard at Huddersfield will be left in the hands of Whitaker’s brothers George and James. Some horses will also stay in Britain. The move will take place next month.
