He began his career as Jessica Kürten’s (IRL) ride and later competed successfully under Roger-Yves Bost (FRA): Vivaldo van het Costersveld. Having achieved numerous good placements during his career, for example last year in Basel, Zurich, Paris, Bordeaux, La Baule and Dublin, he was retired from the sport in August, 2014 and then was supposed to serve at a stud farm. The 17-year-old first suffered a broken phalanx in one of his hind legs and after nearly five hours on the operating tables everything seemed good. The next day, Vivaldo broke his leg and had to be put to sleep.
