Yesterday the French stud farm Haras des Coudrettes has announced that the two top horses Orient Express and Ornella Mail, both 14 years old, will be retired. Both horses were able to achieve numerous big successes under French Patrice Delaveau. Delaveau and the 14-year-old stallion Orient Express by Quick Star/ Le Tot de Semilly won individual and team silver at the 2014 World Equestrian Games. Furthermore they won the Grand Prix of Rotterdam in 2014, the 2013 Grand Prix in La Baule and the 2013 World Cup in Helsinki as well as the Grand Prix of La Coruna in 2011. The pair also won the 2013 Nations Cup final in Barcelona.
The French rider and 14-year-old Ornella Mail won the 2011 Grand Prix of Helsinki and the derbies in La Baule (2013) and Falsterbo (2011).
Both horses will have their official retirement celebration at the Longines Masters in Paris. Orient Express will start his breeding career at Haras de la Forge, Ornella Mail hers at Haras de Coudrettes.
