Painted Black Will be Retired in Geneva

Morgan Barbancon and black stallion Painted Black took part in their last competition at the European Championships in Aachen. The 18-year-old KWPN stallion and the Spanish rider finished 14th in the individual rating. At the World Cup finals in Las Vegas they finished in eighth place. Earlier the pair attended the World Equestrian Games in Caen and the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Now Painted Black, who was brought to the top sport by Anky van Grunsven and then went to Barbancon in 2010, will be retired during the international event in Geneva. Barbancon will ride their last freestyle on December 12, and then he will get a ceremonial farewell.
