This weekend, US show-jumper McLain Ward presented a new horse in Wellington this weekend. He and Handy van HD by Tinka’s Boy, previously ridden by Alberto Michan, had three consecutive clear rounds at the event in Florida. McLain Ward has been given the ride of the mare, a daughter of Pieter Devos’ top horse Candy, by Tal Milstein and Ilan Ferder.
Irish Darragh Kenny also has a new horse. He now has the ride of 8-year-old French mare USA Normade. The Made in Semilly daughter previously was ridden by her owner Nicolas Paillot and then by Yann Candele, who already won a 1,50m level competition at the CSI4* in La Coruna.
An Irish top horse will compete under the US flag in the future: RMF Zecilie. The 11-year-old Holsteiner Mare, as yet successfully competed by Denis Lynch, who won a competition at the CSIO in Dublin with the mare, is now with Jessica Springsteen. The Acolord daughter and her new rider straight were placed ninth in the Grand Prix in Wellington straight away.
Abdel Said will have to do without 10-year-old mare Imke. The Egyptian and Philippe Dalanada have sold the Senaat daughter to France.
