It’s no big surprise: Marcela Krinke Susmelj has received Switzerland’s single starting place for the dressage competitions in Rio. Susmelj will compete 15-year-old Danish gelding Molberg there. She had also saved the starting place for her nation. The trained veterinarian is Switzerland’s best dressage rider by a great margin, she already competed at three World Championships and five European Championships, but as yet has never competed at the Olympic Games. The rider has already announced her goal: she wants to get to at least the final, the Freestyle, which means at least place eighteen after Grand Prix and Special.
