Eric Lamaze’s (CAN) and Hickstead’s victory in the Grand Prix at Aachen in 2010 remains unforgotten – Lamaze broke his foot in the first round. Now the Canadian won the Prize of Europe at the Aachen Soers with Fine Lady, a Hanoverian mare. “She is incredibly competitive,” so Lamaze. “With her there’s always a chance to win. For me she’s the perfect horse. She has the heart to win and is unbelievably fast.” Simon Delestre (FRA) with Qlassic Bois Margot, currently number one in the world ranking was placed second behind Lamaze. “I tried everything, but I knew that Fine Lady is very fast,” so the French said. Third place went to Belgian Olivier Philippaerts with H&M Challenge by Begijnakker Z, a horse that was already competed in Aachen by his father Ludo Philipppaerts some years ago.
