German dressage rider Ulla Salzgeber will cease to compete at international events. At least on the horse, so the rider told dressursport-deutschland.de. “Now it’s the turn of the younger riders,” the 59-year-old said, who won two Olympic team gold medals and individual silver and bronze. At WEGs she collected two team gold medals as well as two individual bronze medals. She won two World Cup finals and participated four times at European Championships where she won double gold two times. In the future Ulla Salzgeber wants to focus on her career as a coach – that is an occupation she likes and has a passion for. However, she still wants to train horses and might present young horses on the national stage, but no longer at international events.
