Amaretto D’Arco, 16-year-old Belgian stallion, has died following a colic attack. The Darco son from a Tenor Maciais mother has recently been competed by Katie Dinan. The US American and Amaretto D’Arco had some successes at 1,60m level. Before 2013 the horse was ridden by Irish Shane Sweetnam. The pair successfully participated in many Nations Cups, World Cups and Grand Prix.
Dinan told worldofshowjumping.com that Amaretto D’Arco had been one of the most majestic beings she ever encountered. “He was a true gentleman in and out of the ring, who always took care of the girl on his back. Darco, I love you, and it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye.”
