Surgery for Jos Lansink – No Eighth Olympic Games

Belgian top rider Jos Lansink will not be able to attend his eighth Olympic Games in succession. Equnews.com reported that he had to undergo prostrate surgery yesterday since he was diagnosed with tumor cells. “I would have liked to participate at the Olympic Games,” they quoted the rider, “but at the moment the sport is a minor issue. Currently, my main focus is my health, there’s a more important fight to be fought.”
After the CHIO in Rotterdam this weekend chef d’équipe Dirk Demeersman will nominate his two single riders. Eligible riders are Gregory Wathelet, Jerome Guery, Judy-Ann Melchior and Nicola as well as Olivier Philippaerts.
