Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, the first German dressage rider to perform, has brought Monica Theodorescu’s team to the lead. The rider from Bavaria and TSF Dalera BB, her 11-year-old Trakehner mare by Easy Game showed a wonderful performance in the Grand Prix. The Grand Prix will take place the first two days and will be the decision for the team rating. In the first piaffe the horse was a bit unsure, but von Bredow-Werndl knew what went wrong (“My hand was there just a bit too long, then she gets too short”) and was able to correct her mistake in the second and third piaffe. “For me it was extremely important to show that Dalera knows how to piaffe,” the first German rider said. Von Bredow-Werndl was more than satisfied with her mare: “The scenery did not impress her in the least. I do not think I will even need to do a warm up tomorrow.” However, the rider got a bit nervous when she and her brother Benni had watched the first two riders: “My body began tingling all over. But then I thought how many people would give everything to be in my place and then I was able to convert this into a positive feeling.”
British Spencer Wilton and Super Nova II -who according to the rider was a bit nervous and therefore had mistakes in the piaffes- are currently ranked second after an expressive performance (74,581 percent). Steffen Peters and Suppenkasper currently rank third with 73,494 percent.
