Considering the starting field of the qualification for the Freestyle it is a surprise that Cathrine Dufour became the winner of the Grand Prix at the Horses & Dreams, Hagen a.T.W. However, the Danish rider and 14-year-old Caprimond son Atterupgaards Cassidy have known each other for a very long time, to be exact more than 7 years, and the pair’s harmony during the competition was obvious.
With 75,960 percent her lead over Anabel Balkenhol and Heuberger TSF (75,380 percent) was not by a big margin, but this resulted mainly from the judge at C, who judged Dufour’s performance with 72,900 percent and saw her in seventh rank.
25-year-old Dufour said that her horse originally had been bought for the small tour: “When my family wanted to buy him they told us that he was a horse suitable for the small tour but not for the Grand Prix. I still tried and since last year we have been successful. Cassidy is a real friend. It is an incredible experience to make this journey with him.”
Fabienne Lütkemeier and her top horse D’Agostino by De Niro finished in third place (74,220 percent) “I think he does not look his 17 years,” the German rider said, happy about her “Daggi’s” performance. “On the contrary: he is extremely motivated.”
