Former Olympic Horse Put Down

Active Walero, former top horse of British dressage rider Nicola McGivern, has died. According to Horse&Hound, he has been put to sleep on Friday. He was 25 years old. Owner Fiona James told that the gelding was old and had given up. “He decided he had enough,” so James said. The Wanderer son and his rider were part of the 2003 bronze-winning team in Hickstead. In 2004, they attended the Olympic Games in Athens.
