Fabienne Lütkemeier Decides Against Final in Omaha

Throughout the whole World Cup season Fabienne Lütkemeier and 17-year-old D’Agostino had busily collected points for the Final in Omaha, but now the pair will not travel to the US. The German rider has decided against taking part in the Final since she is not allowed to accompany the De Niro son on the airplane, which she was only told at the last stage of the FEI World Cup in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. “Daggi is a special horse. While at events he does not go into the washing box, he does not board foreign trucks and he tries jumping out of some boxes when he does not like them,” so Lütkemeier said. “He does not even go on our own truck if I am not with him – he does not do it with my mother or Andrzej. He is incredibly fixated on me. If I could have been with him during the flight I think I could have given him the much needed calm and faith and I could have taken on the responsibility. Daggi has done so much for me, I owe him a lot and I think it would be unfair to him to send him on his first flight without a person he trusts. Therefore I have decided with a heavy heart that we will not travel to the World Cup Final.”
