Actually Zenith NOP was supposed to have a new rider for quite some time now. The 12-year-old gelding is owned by the Springpaarden Fonds Nederlands and was supposed to be auctioned after the Olympic Games. The principle of the fonds is to buying young horses in order to develop and then sell them profitably. Jeroen Dubbeldam’s horse S.F.N. Zenit NOP could not show more successes. The KWPN gelding by Rash R is current show jumping World and European Champion in the individual and team rating. At the Olympic Games in Rio he only was one second away from a medal.
However: at the auction the highest bid for the top horse was only 800,000 Euro. That was not enough for the Springpaarden Fonds, who re-sold Zenith at the auction. Currently they are trying to sell the horse privately. While the horse is waiting for a new owner he will stay with Jeroen Dubbeldam, who will start competing him again. Their next competition will be the CSI3* in Odense at the weekend.
