By a clear margin Isabell Werth was able to win the Grand Prix Freestyle in the Frankfurter Festhalle. She and Hanoverian gelding Don Johnson by Don Frederico received 80,300 percent and won ahead of Ingrid Klimke with Hanoverian stallion Franziskus by Fidertanz/Alabaster (76,025 percent), Third place went to Finnish Emma Kaverva with Dambacu NI by Danone II (75,325 percent).
Isabell Werth’s Don Johnson – so she had to state- had been last presented in May, but only because she has so many other Grand Prix horses in her stable. “He missed out on some action,” Werth admitted. “He already destroyed some rubber toys. He just wants to be entertained.” In Frankfurt the gelding was as widely awake as ever, in the Grand Prix and the Freestyle. But that is how Werth likes him “He is an incredible horse with a strong character and I have grown to like him a lot.”
Ingrid Klimke was satisfied with her second place: “Being placed second behind Isabell is the same as winning.”
