British dressage rider Carl Hester hoped to secure his Olympic team gold-winning horse Uthopia at the auction in Belfast on Friday. He believed to have got enough donors to be able to buy the horse. However, the new owner of the horse that was sold for 165,000 pounds is still a mystery. Hester tweeted that he himself was not able to secure Uthopia but that he was hoping and working on a positive outcome.
The stallion was auctioned due to its owner’s bankruptcy, but as yet the new owner, whose payment is due in two days, is still not known.
