Over the last weeks, Japan has bought some dressage horses in order to be prepared for the Olympic Games in Rio. Now another transfer has become public. 74-year-old many-time Olympic participant Hiroshi Hoketsu has bought Wolfram Wittig’s 15-year-old horse Brioni W. The Westphalian gelding by Breitling is a full brother of Bertoli W, recently sold to Kuranojo Saito.
In 2008, Brioni and Brigitte Wittig competed in the finals of the Nurnberg Burg Pokal. In 2011, they had their international Grand Prix debut. However, the pair was only seldom to be seen competing, they only attended three CDIs from 2011 to 2015. Hoketsu, who will celebrate his 75th birthday in March competed last at the Olympic Games in London – now, so it seems, he is keen on attending the Olympic Games once more.
