The decision certainly surprised many: Germany’s most richly endowed dressage series, the Meggle Champions will have her last finals in Dortmund in March. According to dressursport-deutschland.de Toni Meggle has announced this decision during the Munich Indoors. The series first took place as an international event during the 2008/2009 season , providing a plus concerning renumeration to the German dressage events. Qualifications took place this season in Hagen, Munich-Riem, Aachen, Donaueschingen and will lead to Oldenburg, Munster and the Finals in Dormund. Now the pair Marina and Toni Meggle wants to continue with the “Meggle Champion of Honour – Dressage in Harmony” which has been initiated this year. At the stages in Hamburg, at the Peterhof yard in Perl-Borg and in Munich a committee consisting of judges, stewards and trainers will judge how the Grand Prix riders deal with their horses. A rider has to attend two out of the three stages in order to be eligible for winning the prize money of 10,000 Euro.
