The World Cup Preparation Has Paid Off for Gudrun Patteet and Sea Coast Atlantic

Sea Coast Atlantic, 10-year-old gelding ridden by Belgian Gudrun Patteet had a break of two months. Now she brought the Schilling son to the Festhalle in Frankfurt in order to prepare for the World Cup event in Mechelen. And her supposed second horse showed himself to be in a mood for winning: They won Saturday’s main competition, the Champions Cup. “Frankfurt is always a good preparation for Mechelen. It is only a three-star event, but one can compare it to a five-star event.”
Second place went to German Jörne Sprehe with Stakki’s Jumper by Stakkato Gold/Gouverneur. The Hungarian stallion joined the sport late, so Sprehe said, but was already able to win some Grand Prix. Third place went to Pateet’s compatriot Pieter Devos with KWPN gelding Apart, whose ride he took over in order to develop the horse further. Previously the horse was ridden by his wife. Devos was happy to have found his way to Frankfurt: “I am in Frankfurt for the first time and I am unbelievably happy to be here. So many people have talked about the event, but one does not know how it really is until one has attended. I am very impressed. It is like Christmas.”
