12-year-old Irish sport horse HHS Cooley, the ride of US American Liz Halliday-Sharp had to be euthanized after a fall at the Burgham Horse Trials in England. The rider had to go to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with a fracture of the seventh cervical vertebra. According to eventingnation.com she will be able to leave the hospital tomorrow. Liz Halliday-Sharp herself expressed her sadness: “If I said I was devastated it would be an understatement. He was my partner, my best friend, and the bravest horse in the world with the biggest heart. He always gave everything. He loved eventing from the first moment and lived for the travels and the events.”
The pair competed at their first one-star event in 2011. In 2013 they reached three-star level and this year they finished the four-star event in Kentucky.
