Valentina Truppa’s Chablis Retired

At the weekend Italian dressage rider Valentina Truppa had tears running down her face. The reason was the retirement of her 20-year-old Danish gelding Chablis by Castro at the international event in Verona. The chestnut horse came to the Truppa stable when he was three years old, he was Valentina’s first Grand Prix horse. With Chablis she made the jump from the young riders to the Grand Prix. They won the World Cup Final of the young riders in Frankfurt two times, became European Champions of the young riders and a year later, in 2007, individual bronze. In 2016 they attended the Olympic Games in Rio.
