Yesterday, Italian top dressage rider Valentina Truppa was seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital. At the CDI in Arezzo she wanted to compete in the Inter I with a 7-year-old youngster. While entering the arena her horse spooked, spun around, and fell down on top of its rider, so euro-dressage.com disclosed. The 29-year-old rider immediately fell unconscious and was taken to a hospital in San donato by a helicopter. After first medical treatment she was referred to the Policlinico Santa Maria della Scotte in Siena. Despite wearing a helmet, Truppa is supposed to have suffered severe head injuries. According to the Facebook page of the rider her condition is not life threatening but serious.
