US Spending Record Sum for Riders to Compete in Europe

The USA prepares their dressage riders for the Olympic Games in Rio on a large scale: They spend a record sum in order to enable 24 dressage combinations to compete in the Grand Prix, Under-25 and young riders in Europe this summer. According to dressage-news.com eight pairs are prepared for the Big and Small Tour of the Pan American Games; in addition, three complete teams will compete at the Nations Cups in Rotterdam, Hagen, Falsterbo and Hickstead. Furthermore, more money is spend for Americans competing at the World Young Horse Championship in Verden and a pony division.
These sudden investments are a result of Robert Dover’s constant efforts in fund raising for dressage. Two years ago, his appointment as Chef d’Équipe took place with the focus on winning top three positions at Olympic and Word Equestrian Games.
