In autumn last year Patrice Delaveau’s top horse Orient express had to take a break which lasted more than six months. In March the 14-year-old French stallion had his comeback in Cagnes-sur-Mer and when he was placed fifth at the Global Champions Tour in Antwerpen he seemed to be back for good. However, in the middle of May in La Baule he had three fences down, which puzzled the audience. Now Delaveau has reavealed the reason: Orient Express has contracted a virus. He wants to be back competing the horse in Rotterdam, where the last qualification for Rio for the French show jumpers takes place. Orient Express is already back in training.
