This week Dutch coach Wim Ernes was awarded the golden Needle of the KNHS for his dedication for the Dutch dressage sport. Now the federation has announced the death of the well-liked coach. Last year Wim Ernes, who died at age 58, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor when he had an epileptic seizure just before Christmas. Meanwhile there was some hope since the tumor shrank under treatment, but apparently there was no hope for the successful coach. The dressage world will remember Wim as a well-liked and fair sportsman and horseman with a high reputation.
