Dutch eventer Tim Lips is happy to announce that Dutch gelding Bayro will stay his ride for the next year. The 10-year-old grey whom Lips competed in Rio is back in training, already was competed at the Geneva Indoors event and is -according to his rider- “fit and fresh”. After the long break after Rio Bayro had needed the event to get back his enthusiasm for the cross, which he now showed daily in training.
Lips and the owners have agreed not to concentrate on the EC next year but instead to focus on events like Badminton or Boekelo. “The European Championships are not compatible with the China Games, for which I need to prepare my Chinese team,” so the Dutch rider said. “But I’m happy to be able to ride events like Badminton. Badminton is the most difficult event in the world. I hope to meet all requirements for the 2018 World Equestrian Games since we want to qualify for Tokyo.”
