The Comeback of Dorothee Schneider and Showtime FRH, her 10-year-old Hanoverian, who had not been back in the arena since Rio, had been awaited with great intrest. The expectations were not disappointed: The pair won the Grand Prix that leads to the World Cup Freestyle with a strong performance and 80,560 percent. “Today Showtime was great today,” so the German rider said. “He enjoyed his break. Of course we could not know how his mood was going to be and how he would react to the arena. Sometimes he can be a bit tense, but today he trusted in me and did a great job. There certainly were high expectations and I am happy that our performance received more than 80 percent today. I am looking forward to tomorrow’s Freestyle. We will perform to music from Queen, which fits Showtime.
Second place in the Grand Prix went to Severo Jesus Jurado Lopez, who deligthed the audience in Rio with 10-year-old Lorenzo by Lord Loxley. His 75,780 were noticeably lower than Schneider’s 80 percent, but the pair is very strong in the Freestyle; in Rio they were almost able to win a medal. Third place went to Jessica von Bredow-Werndls (GER) with Unee BB (75,320 percent), fourth place to Fabienne Lütkemeier (GER) and D’Agostino.
