Contender son Carlo, who was able to win many hearts over the course of his career will be retired soon. Spanish Sergio Alvarez Moya will present the 17-year-old Holsteiner one last time at the CSI5* event in La Coruna and then the horse will be retired from the international sport. Since Carlo underwent surgery at the beginning of this month he will not be competed at the event.
Once Carlo was successfully ridden by Nick Skelton – the British rider and the grey horse were placed third at the EC in Madrid in 2011. Then Carlo came to Moya, who won the World Cup of Zurich and the Grand Prix of La Coruna with the horse. The pair finished fourth in the World Cup Final in Gothenburg in 2013 and ranked sixth at the EC in Aachen in 2015.
