British show jumper Laura Renwick has been punished by the FEI. Her 9-year-old Belgian gelding Heliodor Hybris has been tested positive for Betaethason (a steroid) in Villach in mid June. The FEI lists the substance not as doping but as controlled medication. They were placed second in the accumulator. The currently fourth-best British rider in the world accepted the FEI’s punishment. This means that she was disqualified for the event, had to forfeit the prize money and to pay a fine of 1,500 Swiss Francs plus the costs.
