Co-owner of Hello Sanctos, Lord Harris has told Horse&Hound that Rio will be the last Championship for British Scott Brash’s super jumper. Last year, the 14-year-old gelding won the as yet unachieved Rolex Grand Slam – he won the Grand Prix at Geneva, Aachen and Spruce Meadows in a row; Scott pocketed a 1 million Euro bonus prize. “We are not going to jump him to death,” Lord Harris said. “He doesn’t owe us anything for what he has already achieved. If he doesn’t win another penny for us it won’t matter.”
Hello Sanctos will not be retired immediately after the Olympic Games. He will perhaps be competed in Spruce Meadows in September, but not in a five-star competition.
