Olympic Horse Dablino Officially Retired

In 2017 De Niro son Dablino had his last competitions in Hagen and Rotterdam – Anabel Balkenhol, rider of the tall chestnut gelding never said if she would compete her horse for the 2012 Olympic Games again. Now, however, it is clear: The now 18-year-old Hanoverian will not be back in the arena. Dablino, who first was ridden by Holga Finken and attended the World Championship in Verden when he was five, came to the Balkenhol stable in Rosendahl and had his first competition in the Grand Tour in 2009. In 2010 they were part of the bronze-winning team at the WEG in Lexington, in 2012 they were in London as an individual pair. DAblino will now enjoy his retirement in the pastures with his friend, pony Nussi.
