Kaya Lüthi, who was born in Aach am Bodensee was able to celebrate many successes for Germany. The rider who is 23 years old was vice European Champion of the young riders in 2014 and 2015 and in 2015 she won also team silver. However, now the rider has decided to walk a new path and compete for Switzerland in the future. Kaya holds the German as well as the Swiss passport. Therefore it was not too difficult to implement her decision. The German FN has approved and now Lüthi has to put forward good results in order to become part of the Swiss squad. However, Lüthi will not be allowed to compete for Switzerland at Nations Cups and Championships for two years – the waiting period also exists for people with dual citizenship.
In 2015 Lüthi had decided to leave her home stable and went to Otto Becker’s stable. One year later she and her partner Johannes Ehning opened their own business in Stadtlohn. Now she will also ride some of Swiss Thomas Fuchs’ horses. Andy Kistler, Swiss Chef d’équipe is pleased with Lüthi’s decision: “We are glad to welcome a hopeful young talent in our ranks.”
