The arena at the foot of the ruin of castle Nörten-Hardenberg suits Felix Haßmann from Lienen, Germany. Last year he the three most important competitions, among them the Grand Prix with Cayenne WZ. So he was allowed to take the Golden Whip home for one year. In case a rider wins the Grand Prix in two consecutive years or a total of three times then he or she is allowed to keep the Golden Whip and the count has to produce a new one. Now the count has to have a new Golden Whip produced since Felix Haßmann did the almost unbelievable: he and 10-year-old Westphalian mare Balance by Balou du Rouet were so fast in the jump-off that nobody could surpass them. Simone Blum and DSP Alice had the biggest chance but still were a second slower. Michael Hughes (USA) and Zerlin M were placed third.
But that is not all: Felix Haßmann also won the 1,50 competition in the morning with SL Brazonado. Second place went to Lars Nieberg with Nabab de Revel.
