84,340 percent – a new record for Isabell Werth and 11-year-old Oldenburger mare Weihegold OLD by Don Schufro. At the World Cup event in Stuttgart the Rhinelander and her Olympic horse achieved a new personal best in the Grand Prix even though they had one or two little discrepancies. “Weihe” wanted to start the gallop a little early and on the finishing line she wanted to stop too early. “These were problems with the fine tuning,” Werth said. “But when you have a look at her piaffe and passage then it’s clear that she can balance these mistakes.”
The margin by which the pair won was quite big. Second placed Kristina Bröring-Sprehe and 15-year-old Desperados FRH achieved 79,140 percent in their comeback after the Olympic Games. The stallion was agitated and the rider did not always manage to contain him – but in the Freestyle on Saturday this should look different.
British Spencer Wilton with Super Nova also performed well. The 13-year-old gelding by De Niro showed himself very elastic, which gained them 74,980 percent.
