Swiss show jumper Steve Guerdat has taken over the ride of a Grand Prix horse with great quality: 11-year-old Big Red. The Westphalian gelding has already been competed by Nikolaj Hein Russ (DEN) and Richard Spooner (USA). Both of them were very successful with the Ludwig Von Bayern son. Last year, Hein Rus and Big Red had a clear round in their first five-star competition, the 1 Million Dollar Grand Prix in Saugerties. They only had two time penalty points and finished in second place behind Beezie Madden and Simon. This year with Richard Spooner the horse also showed his jumping qualities: they stayed clear in both rounds of the Nations Cup in Coapexan and were placed third in the World Cup competition in Wellington.
The new pair already had their first event this weekend in Riesenbeck. The result: a clear round!
