Nicholson Withdraws from Badminton

Following many other withdrawals now also New Zealand top eventer Andrew Nicholson has cancelled his Badminton entry. Nicholson, who had a dramatic fall last year told Horse&Hound that he didn’t doubt his horse Nereo, but his own fitness and abilities. “On Sunday in Withington, I’ve successfully competed four horses, who all were placed, but I also noticed that I felt tired after the seven minute course. It wouldn’t be very sensitive to ride an eleven and a half minute course in Badminton,” so Nicholson. “I’m confident that my fitness and strength will improve continuously and supported by the confidence of Nereo’s owner Libby Sellar we’re now planning to compete Nereo at significant events like the Event Rider Masters series.”
