Jens Baackmann & Carmen

After Second Place in 2016 Jens Baackmann Has Won Münster 2017

Last year Jens Baackmann was close to winning his home Grand Prix when he was placed second with Carmen. This year he and the 12-year-old Cornet Obolensky daughter did it. In the jump-off Baackmann prevailed against his strong competitors – Peder Fredricson with H&M All In, who won individual silver at the Olympic Games (2nd place) and Dutch Marc Houtzager with Sterrehof’s Baccarat (3rd place).
“Above all I have to thank my horse,” Baackmann praised his four-legged partner. “Carmen is a fast horse and made it easy for me to ride a fast jump-off. This victory is my biggest success yet, and it is also my most beautiful success because it is something special to win in front of a home crowd.”
The Grand Prix also was the second last stage of the DKB riders tour before the final in Munich. Currently Austrian Christian Rhomberg is in the lead with 30 points, ahead of Marc Houtzager with 26 points and Markus Beerbaum with 24 points.
