One year before the Olympic Games at Rio, the horse trading market is in already in full swing. Now, British dressage rider Michael Eilberg has sold his top horse: 13-year-old Half Moon Delphi was bought for the American Rider Sarah Daehnert by Bob Price. Together with Eilberg, the grey mare was part of the 2013 European Championship team (they won bronze in Danmark) as well as part of the World Equestrian Games silver team. Last year at Aachen the pair showed an impressive freestyle performance of over 80 percent. “Today was a sad day,” Eilberg told Horse& Hound. “I had her for five years and it was a big journey. We have achieved so much together and she was my first team horse – possibly my only team horse.” The British mare -although now in American ownership- will spend some time in Germany at Patrik Kittel’s yard. Kittel is Sarah Daehnert’s coach.
