“I wanted to win,” Markus Beerbaum clearly declared and it did not matter that he had to outperform his wife in order to do just that. In the middle tour at Münster Beerbaum and Hanoverian mare Charmed finished in first place. “Charmed is an incredibly fast horse,” Beerbaum said, emphasizing the special property situation. “I bought the horse at the Verdener auction when she was four years old. Since then she has been owned by my daughter. So to say I’m in the fortunate position of being sponsored by my daughter.” Charmed is now nine years old, she is descended from Chacco Blue. Later she could become a horse for daughter Brianne. Markus’ wife Meredith finished in third place with only 8-year-old Westphalian gelding Calle by Carell. In between the spouses came Dutch Marc Houtzager with Mr. Europe by Mr. Blue/Cassini, an 8-year-old KWPN stallion.
