Ludo Philippaert’s King Darco Has Passed Away

Belgian gelding King Darco by Darco has passed away at age 29. The long-standing partner of Ludo Philippaerts (BEL) came to his yard in 1995 and later the pair won the Grand Prix in Porte de Versailles, Paris and Helsinki. They also attended World Equestrian Games and the Olympic Games in Atlanta. Laster Samantha McIntosh took over the horse’s ride, but the horse had to be retired early due to an injury at the¬†flexor tendon. Philippaerts said: “We will miss our King. He was a superstar. You gave us everything. A wonderful World Equestrian Games, Olympics and many more experiences.”
