Holsteiner stallion Quiwi Dream by Quidam de Revel had to be euthanised. The 12-year-old horse sustained a mycosis of the guttural pouch, which means that fungi took residence in his guttural pouch. Quiwi Dream was brought to a clinic in Belgium, where he had to undergo emergency surgery. Since the muscles for swallowing were also affected the stallion already had to undergo artificial feeding for some weeks. His overall health state had deteriorated.
The disease of the stallion, who was successfully competed internationally by Hans-Dieter Dreher, was overshadowed by a dispute between the owner and the breeder/previous owner, in which both parties went to court and now culminated.
