Johannes Ehning has a new top horse in his stable: He has taken over the ride of 11-year-old Westphalian gelding Classic Man V, who has been with Dutch World and European Champion Jeroen Dubbeldam for about a year. The Cornet Obolensky son was introduced to the international sport by Toni Haßmann; the pair won the 2014 Grand Prix in Wiesbaden and Donaueschingen. Owner Hermann Vogt then gave Classic Man V to Jeroen Dubbeldam, he also thought about selling the horse. With his Dutch rider the horse had various successes, among them top placements in Aachen and Basel.
Now Classic Man V stays with Ehning in Stadtlohn. The 33-year-old is happy about his new addition, who is supposed to stay for a while even though a sale is not completely out of the question, so Ehning told globalequestriannews.com. Ehning has already planned his debut with his new horse: it will take place at the Gripshöver yard in Werne at the beginning of April. Usually, the event is frequented by many top riders, they will use it as the starting point of their outdoor season.
