Dobel’s Cento Died Age 28

The German Equestrian Federation announced the death of grey stallion Cento, former top horse of German National Coach Otto Becker. Some days ago, Cento, who died aged 28, had to be euthanised due to a pneumonia. The Capitol I son was owned by Horst Karcher from the Dobel stud farm and became team Olympic winner with Becker in Sydney in 2000. The pair also was placed fourth in the individual rating. Four years later they won bronze with the team, became European Champions with the team in 2003 and won the 2002 World Cup Final. Another success were their victories in the Grand Prix of Aachen in 2000 and Calgary in 2003. “We will miss Cento very much,” Otto Becker said.
