We have to say goodbye to two dressage studs. Hanoverian stallion Dimaggio by Don Primero/World Cup was put to sleep today at age 20. When he was five, Dimaggio became World Champion of the young dressage horses. A great career was not possible for Dimaggio due to a laminitis. One of his most widely known offspring is Michael Eilber’s former championship horse Half Moon Delphi as well as 2014 vice World Champion of the young dressage horses, Del Magico.
The second horse that had to be put down was Wolfram Wittig’s Breitling W. The Bismarck son and Wittig were firmly established in the Grand Prix sport. The Wittig family also bred many successful horses with the stallion. His most successful offspring, both winners of the Nurnberger Burg Pokal , are Blind Date and Burlington FRH. Breitling died of a bladder colic, he was 24 years old.
