Pato Muente and 10-year-old mare Zera were the surprise winners of the Hamburger Derby. For three years the Slowenian born in Argentina rode the Cera I Calato daughter but in the future Zera will live in Markus and Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum’s stable. As yet Zera was owned partly by Muente himself as well as Harm Thormählen. Muente competed the mare up to 1,60m four-star level. The rider said to worldofshowjumping.com that it was always sad to see such a talented and special horse go but that he thought Zera to be placed well with the Beerbaums.
