After a successful performance in the stallion presentation at the Equitana in Essen Jil-Marielle Becks (Senden), daughter of the owner family of Damon Hill, now focuses on the Preis der Besten at the beginning of May in Warendorf. In order to participate at the Preis der Besten, Germany’s most important competition for young riders, Jil-Marielle Becks and Damon Hill have to take part in a qualifier competition. The qualifier for the 15-year-old Westfalian stallion and his 17-year-old rider will be their first official competition and will take place in Vechta on the weekend of April 18 and 19. Jil-Marielle in principle is only a junior rider because she is only 17 years old, but she will participate in the competition for young riders age 19 to 21.
The Preis der Besten is not an official qualifier for the European Championships, but is sen as an important competition for riders aiming at a spot in the team. Pairs that perform well at the Preis der Besten can count on receiving an invitation to the qualifiers at the Wiesbadener Pfingstturnier and the German Championships at Balve. The European Championships will be held Vidauban, France, at the beginning of July.
