Beezie Madden’s top horse Cortes ‘C’ is to be retired from the sport at age 15. The Randel Z son was best horse in the horse exchange at the 2014 WEG in Caen and won individual and team bronze under the rider from the US. The gelding was first introduced to the international sport by Belgian Gregory Wathelet; in 2011 he was sold to Madden’s sponsor Abigail Wexner.
Last year the pair won team silver at the Olympic Games in Rio and was able to win many Grand Prix, World Cup competitions and Nations Cups. However, while at Rio, Cortes C injured his tendon and was not shown for the individual rating. Now everybody decided not to bring Cortes C back to the sport.
