After their victory in the World Cup in Zurich in January and their attendance in Hongkong in February Pius Schwizer and his gelding PSG future were not seen competing on the international stage. Now it has become clear why: According to the Swiss Pferdewoche, PSG Future underwent surgery on his left hip joint. A chip was removed and so the Cash and Cerry son had to take a break.
Further the news states that it wasn’t planned to compete the horse in Rio. The horse’s owner Peter Schildknecht announced that the Global Champions Tour was the focus but that the rider had free choice for Rio and Chef d’Équipe Andy Kistler hasn’t yet ruled out a start at the Olympic Games. The horse’s comeback is supposed to take place at the end of May in Madrid or Chantilly. Meanwhile PSG Future is still in rehabilitation training.
